I’m Andy, an ideas maker, an artistic documentary wedding photographer and film maker. I believe in working hard, pushing boundaries, making friends, being ambitious and engaged in your day . My favourite thing is the incidental around the expected . The incidental moments that go beyond the basic event. The pictures before the pictures. I am obsessed and I love it.
Most of the guests at your wedding will have a camera, we are stood next to each other and walking the same paths and seeing the same day in front of us. I need to make sure I am constantly thinking of what i produce can be nothing like anyone else at your wedding. My pictures need to be more than a simple documentary of the day. It’s a more artful version of events, spaces and shape, shooting landscapes with people in. I want to shoot and recognise the unexpected bits, the most beautiful incandescent bits of the day as a collection together. To move beyond the obvious of an event. I am in this game for the art :)
One of the things i love the most is wanting to create. I want to create things that are pieces to own and to pass down. Photographs printed, treasured things to keep forever. I want you to walk away from your wedding with something you can carry and keep for the rest of your lives. Original work that can be touched and felt, combining an honest documentary with an art that is genuine, that represents a memory. Memories aren’t perfect and neither is the most beautiful photography, especially on film. The actual light of the day impressing upon a light sensitive film , a one off !
Each wedding is completely different but with the same values.
My couples want wedding pictures that are different to everything they have seen. They want to invest in art and an opportunity. Engage with the moment they are in. They want something different and distinctive, and they trust me to be ambitious and artistic.
A wedding is like a stage. It’s amazing to be invited to this one day, a self contained theatre of brilliant moments, where it ALL happens. It’s happening , this is the day, we are here and its an amazing to be with you!
I get to travel all over the world, i’ve been to over 400 weddings in 16 countries, recording snippets of random one minute moments. I want to liberate you to engage with what we are doing, to be creative, to be ambitious together on the best of days.
