Artistic documentary wedding photography has always been an underlying theme and description of what we try to achieve at Harrera Images. A wedding is such a great platform to have amazing pics in front of you. I try to let the wedding completely flow and just capture moments. I do however prompt moments and listen to the bride and groom and try to help with picture ideas that they have as well. I do suggest certain ideas to add to certain situations and moments where I can punctuate the wedding with some artistic parts and impressions of the day in the way I see it. I like trying to make dynamic wedding pictures and sometimes needs an idea at the right time of the evening with the right light as opposed to being a pure documentary photographer where their should be no real communication between the bride and groom and the photographer. His/her job as a documentary wedding photographer is to document the day and not interfere with ideas or prompts. At Harrera we do certainly like to suggest the odd idea and spend time for instance in the morning with the bride taking some time to do some pictures as opposed to documenting the morning as it happens.
The pics below hopefully show a mix of artistic documentary work and the odd prompted moment. The couple have another 800 pictures when they get back I have chosen a few of my favorites and a few that tell the story of the day for the guests that attended.
Hopefully we did our job at this wedding in Hertfordshire. I have known Dave and Zoe for a while having first photographed Zoe with her horse. I have gradually got to know them and was so pleased to be a part of their day. It was such a good day and the weather was perfect ( compared to the day before and the day after ) and a great party at the farm. I am sure they partied to the early hours. Anyway , hope you like these pics, all the luck and love in the world to Dave and Zoe and hope they are enjoying the Maldivesx
