Engagement Photography in Cornwall – I love doing them. Engagement photography shoots are such a good start to photographing a couples journey before their wedding photography on the day of the wedding. Wedding photography in Cornwall is always a treat. Doing mainly my wedding photography in Devon or Cornwall one of the skills is for engagement photography is knowing the area so you can pick the best spot and know the best time to do the pictures.

This weeks engagement shoot was a bit different as I am friends with the couple which is brilliant although a little bit more nerve racking I always feel. Often with couples its only the second time we have met when we do the pre shoot so we are strangers pretty much still. If I know the couple it always feels a bit alien chatting to them about us helping each other on the day and the kind of mindset for the pictures part of their day.

My fears were put at ease as Brendan and Beccy wandered happily off into the location we had chosen. I opened this blog by saying knowing your local area is such a big part of taking the pictures to the next level, knowing the right spot for the right time of day and using the time correctly and weather. I had this location in mind for a while but it needed the right time for the sunset, before harvest time and with a clear sky and with this summer that was easier said then done. We got their though after a few phone calls and it looked great. Brendan and Beccy were lovely together and as always just encouraged the couple to get on with it with minimal direction really just with the mind set of being aware of where the camera was and doing lots for me to photograph. I hardly set any of my pics up, and much prefer the couple to make their own moments as opposed to me shooting my ideas. I think it is more genuine for them

Anyway hope you like these few from the shoot, it was an amazing location and Brendan and Beccy were really up for it and we had a fun hour in possibly one of the prettiest fields in Cornwall Cant wait for the wedding its going to be great – AG
